The exchange course “Art and Culture Application for Life Improvement” in May 2024 with the participation of lecturers at School of The Art – USM (Malaysia), SMD-UEH lecturers (Vietnam) and 24 students from two schools was a great success. Here, students formed groups to learn and solve problems at historical and cultural destinations in Penang, Malaysia. From the mysterious corners of Georgetown to the beautiful beaches of Miami, students had the opportunity to explore and connect with community knowledge through this exciting survey.

With support from lecturers and collaborators, the students spent time understanding the situation and interviewing local residents and tourists in Penang. Those efforts have brought creative solutions and the application of art and culture to our projects: Gaming applications to explore local culture, innovative projectors in presenting information and projects, relief card project for residents in emergency situations.

The project ended with The Certificate of Completion and Souvenir Presentation Ceremony, it was solemnly held in the presence of Dr. Mohammad Khizal Mohamed Saat, Deputy Dean (Academic, Career & Internationalization), representing the Dean of the School of the Arts, and Dr. Muhizam Bin Mustafa, Director of the International Mobility & Collaboration Centre (IMCC) at USM.

These projects not only provided memorable experiences for the students but also received high praises from professors, doctors, and specialized lecturers from both SMD and USM. They have made significant contributions to the local community.
