SMD – School of Media Design – The Future Is Here
Establishment
As part of the strategy to restructure and position the UEH brand into a multidisciplinary and sustainable university, the School of Media Design (SMD) was established under College of Technology and Design in February 2022 with the mission of bringing technology to life and integrating to art and design. Same vision – SMD will become a leading training place in design, promoting scientific research activities, connecting businesses, organizing media and art events in a positive and creative direction, creation and sustainability.
On May 12, 2022, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) awarded the title of Honorary Doctor, Rector of the UEH School of Technology and Design (CTD) to Dr. Park Young June – Former Vice Minister of the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Faculty of Design. – Communication with the theme “Transformation for sustainable development”. UEH also appointed Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh to hold the position of Dean of the Faculty of Design and Communication and invited Dr. Yi Dong Su – a Korean, an expert with many signals and experiences in teaching, consulting and implementation. communication and design projects – as dean. This is the first time that UEH’s organization has a foreign leader. The event marks an important start of CTD in implementing development strategies for the period 2022 – 2025 with a vision to 2030.
