UEH – Macao (China) International Dual Degree Partnership Program
Program Name
Dual Bachelor’s Degree Partnership Program: “Bachelor of Digital Communication and Media Design” and “Bachelor of Communication and Media.”
1. Target Students and Admission Criteria
- Students who have completed high school and meet the eligibility requirements for UEH’s Digital Communication and Media Design major, in accordance with annual admission criteria and quotas (as per current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Training Regulations of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City).
- English Language Proficiency: Candidates must possess an IELTS Academic certificate of 5.5 or higher (or TOEFL iBT 62+, or TOEIC 4-skills 670+ with minimum scores of 140 in Speaking and 140 in Writing).
- Transfer Requirement: Students must achieve a proficiency level of TOEIC 700 / TOEFL iBT 80 (CBT 213, PBT 550) / IELTS 6.5 after completing Semester 4 to register for study at USJ. Students who do not meet this requirement will be required to take an additional English course at UEH. Each class is expected to have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 30 students.
2. Duration and Training Curriculum:
- Students must meet the admission requirements of both UEH (per MOET and UEH regulations) and USJ before being admitted to the program
- Pathways: After completing Semesters 1, 2, 3, and 4 at UEH, students will transfer to USJ for Semesters 5, 6, and 7; alternatively, students may complete Semesters 1, 2, 3, and 4 at USJ and transfer to UEH for Semesters 5, 6, and 7.

- Lecturers are selected specifically by the program.
5. Program Scale:
- Enrollment Quota: 5–10 students per year.
- Admission Period: UEH may conduct two admission intakes per year (subject to consultation and decision by the partner institutions). The specific timing for students to transfer to USJ will be determined by the partnering parties.
6. Training Locations:
- University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam.
- University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Macao.
7. Degrees Awarded:
- Bachelor of Communication and Media issued by the University of Saint Joseph (USJ).
- In the event that a student is unable to meet all requirements to obtain a degree from USJ or UEH, they may be provided with an official transcript for completed courses or a certificate of participation in the program
8. Implementation Roadmap:
The Vietnam – Macao Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program is a collaborative partnership between UEH and USJ, offering opportunities to all students who meet the admission requirements for the Communication majors at both universities
- For UEH Students: Students will study for 2 years at UEH (78 credits) and 1.5 years at USJ (79 credits), totaling 157 credits. All courses are taught in English; however, Vietnamese students may study the following subjects in Vietnamese:
- Marxist-Leninist Philosophy
- Marxist-Leninist Political Economy
- Scientific Socialism
- Ho Chi Minh Ideology
- History of the Communist Party of Vietnam
- For USJ Students: Students will study for 2 years at USJ (94 credits) and 1.5 years at UEH (47 credits), totaling 141 credits. All courses are taught in English.
