The Light & Instinct of Arts Exhibition
On the evening of January 06, 2024, the exhibition “The Light and Instinct of Arts,” organized by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City’s College of Technology and Design (UEH-CTD), in collaboration with the Institute of Intelligent Interactive Technology (3I) and the Department of Communication Design (SMD), officially opened at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum. The works revolving around the five elements “Earth – Water – Wind – Fire and Mind” were created by the talented artist Nguyen Duy Nhut.
In this exhibition, artist Nhut immersed himself in the elements of nature – earth, water, wind, and fire, entering the universe and becoming part of those elements. These experiences are causing the artist some concern as he witnesses the increasingly apparent divide between humans and nature. The observations, the sounds that he records daily are clear manifestations of the spatial and temporal separation. The detachment between humans, their distancing from the original source, is leading to an imbalance with the fundamental elements of life.
The exhibition also takes viewers on a journey to awaken creativity. This is a journey back to the inner drive, back to the essence of creativity, the purity of art, whereby artworks are created simply, purely out of passion and love for art.
In particular, UEH-CTD also participated in exhibiting the artwork “Artistic Sand Table,” a collaborative art project with technology by Artist Nguyen Duy Nhut and the Institute of Intelligent Interactive Technology, Department of Communication Design under the UEH College of Technology and Design.
At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh, Vice Dean of UEH-CTD, was invited to cut the ribbon and deliver a sharing speech: “This exhibition is special not only in terms of painting and artistic space arrangement, not only in the message conveyed to society, but also in its modernity and forward-looking approach, where technology is integrated into traditional artworks, bringing new perspectives to viewers. Art and technology – two seemingly difficult fields to find common ground – yet their integration and intersection bring interesting experiences for all of us.”
