“UEH Zero Waste Campus” strategy developed by University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) during 2021-2025 aims to establish clean and green campuses, in vision of the first green university in Vietnam. In 2023, UEH continues their journey by kicking off the first project in media named “Green Campus 2023”.

As we all know, the environment has always been a great concern for many years, especially in the context of an increasingly developed society and increased environmental pollution.

Along Ban Than beach, Quang Nam, garbage is layered from the sand to the water’s edge, in September 2021.

In 2021, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City launched a project named “UEH Zero Waste Campus” in response to the issue. With a strategic vision in 5 years, it has gained many achievements and positive engagement from thousands of students. Successful as it seems, there are still some problems that have not been radically solved.

Therefore, in 2023, UEH has officially issued “UEH Zero waste, garbage sorting” regulation and implemented the “Green Campus 2023” media campaign, which aims to further develop the “UEH Zero Waste” strategy and communicate its message of raising the awareness of waste sorting and taking actions on it.

What is Green Campus 2023?

“Green Campus 2023” is a collaborative media campaign between the School of Media Design and UEH’s Marketing and Communication Department. This is a practical, large-scale, high-coverage campaign exclusively catering for UEH students, strongly addressing the issue of waste classification to reduce the risk of environmental pollution. In addition, the most important thing that “Green Campus 2023” aims to do is to change the UEH students’ knowledge and attitude towards the environment, to promote and to bring inherent responsibility and dynamism into play.

This year, the return of the “Green Campus” campaign promises to help UEH take further strides, closer to the success of becoming the first “Zero Waste University” in Vietnam.

In addition, all activities of the campaign are open to UEH students and give you extremely attractive benefits. Not only will you be aware of how to properly classify the waste at UEH campuses, but you can also learn more about a serious problem of the global environment. In the near future, “Green Campus 2023” will feature a whole week with many impressive activities. This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn how to protect the environment, to join an open playground, and to get your Student ID update.

Summary

In general, the media campaign “Green Campus 2023” desires to make an effort to increase public awareness and change their behavior in environmental protection through 2 main approaches:

  • Educating and propagating to put across the information about the harmful effects of waste on the community and how proper waste sorting will help reduce environmental pollution and maximize resource utilization.
  • Promoting practice and interaction within the community to increase student participation and improve waste sorting skills.

To ensure the success and sustainability of the project, we look forward to your active participation. Only then can we achieve a lasting change in the consciousness and behavior of UEH students in protecting the environment.
